Yet many K-12 classrooms are still operating with 19th-century models, leaving a critical gap between the skills students are taught and what modern employers need.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-25962 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/hamssmall-31-768x499.jpg" alt="hams students" width="768" height="499" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/hamssmall-31-768x499.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/hamssmall-31-300x195.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/hamssmall-31-1024x665.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/hamssmall-31-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/hamssmall-31.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></span></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class=" wp-image-21590 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking.png" alt="icon-thinking" width="104" height="104" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 104px) 100vw, 104px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">According to the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), today’s fastest-growing industries depend on a person’s ability to “think unconventionally” and “produce astonishing work.” So, how can educators bridge that gap?</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24349 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9-768x512.jpg" alt="Applied STEM K-12 Curriculum" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9-1536x1023.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/connoquenessingSMALL-9.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />The answer may lie in teaching invention and innovation directly—skills that encourage students to think critically, collaborate, and solve real-world problems. Project-based learning (PBL), when paired with immersive environments and purpose-driven curriculum, offers an ideal platform to help students move beyond rote memorization and into a space of discovery, creativity, and application.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24961 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2-768x453.jpg" alt="students collaborate on an assignment" width="768" height="453" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2-768x453.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2-300x177.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2-1024x604.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2-1536x905.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/video-capture-02-230614-2.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Unfortunately, many teachers find themselves limited by rigid schedules, testing requirements, and a lack of resources. Even when schools add makerspaces or STEM labs, they often lack the structured curriculum necessary to transform those spaces into innovation centers. Without clear guidance and purpose, even the most exciting tools risk being underutilized.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-25960 size-full" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2.jpg" alt="Photo shoot" width="521" height="361" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2.jpg 521w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2-300x208.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2-18x12.jpg 18w" sizes="(max-width: 521px) 100vw, 521px" />That’s where Inventionland Education steps in. Drawing on over 30 years of experience in real-world product development, Inventionland has created an applied STEM <a href="/courseware-k-12">invention curriculum</a> that guides students through the entire 9-step inventing method.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-24789 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1.jpg" alt="applied STEM" width="206" height="279" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1.jpg 240w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1-222x300.jpg 222w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1-9x12.jpg 9w" sizes="(max-width: 206px) 100vw, 206px" />This course is designed to be student-driven, extremely collaborative, and engaging, as students of all skill levels and learning styles learn about innovation and inventing.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Equally important is the physical space where learning happens. Traditional classrooms, with rows of desks and teacher-centered instruction, don’t lend themselves to innovation. By contrast, immersive learning spaces like the Creative Innovation Research Center (CIRC) at Haine Elementary or the Innovation Lab at Leechburg High School provide students with opportunities to explore, create, and collaborate. These environments spark curiosity and foster a sense of ownership, leading to deeper learning and improved student outcomes.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-25961 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-768x432.jpg" alt="Teacher and student" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />Research shows that project-based, innovation-focused classrooms deliver a host of benefits:</span></p>
<ul class="ul1">
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Better content retention and academic performance.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Increased student engagement and attendance, especially among underserved populations.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Development of essential 21st-century skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Improved performance on standardized tests.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">And it’s not just students who benefit. <a href="/teacher-resources">Educators</a> who embrace project-based learning often report higher job satisfaction and reduced burnout. When students are excited to learn, their enthusiasm becomes contagious, reigniting passion and creativity among teachers as well.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-22484 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/icon-communcatoins.png" alt="Communications" width="112" height="112" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/icon-communcatoins.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/icon-communcatoins-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 112px) 100vw, 112px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Ultimately, preparing students for the future means equipping them with the tools and <a href="/innovation-labs">space</a> to become inventors, innovators, and problem solvers. With the right curriculum, environment, and support, schools can transform learning into something truly meaningful and exciting.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">At Inventionland Education, this week holds special significance. It’s a chance to celebrate the teachers who go beyond traditional instruction—those who ignite creativity, nurture innovation, and help students believe they can change the world.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2187 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/high-school-teacher-768x498.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="498" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/high-school-teacher-768x498.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/high-school-teacher-300x194.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/high-school-teacher.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">These are the teachers using Inventionland Education’s applied STEM curriculum, which empowers students to think and act like real-world inventors and problem-solvers. Through hands-on, project-based learning, these educators transform their classrooms into innovation hubs, where curiosity is encouraged, collaboration is essential, and every idea has the potential to grow into something extraordinary.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2361 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Adrienne-Hoffman-Teacher-Feature-Inventionland-Institute-23-768x512.jpg" alt="Adrienne Hoffman Teacher Feature Inventionland Institute" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Adrienne-Hoffman-Teacher-Feature-Inventionland-Institute-23-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Adrienne-Hoffman-Teacher-Feature-Inventionland-Institute-23-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Adrienne-Hoffman-Teacher-Feature-Inventionland-Institute-23.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">What sets these teachers apart is their commitment to helping students tap into their own creativity. They don’t just teach science, technology, engineering, and math—they teach students how to apply these disciplines to invent solutions to real problems. In doing so, they plant the seeds for the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, designers, and changemakers.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Inventionland Education curriculum is more than a</span>course; it’s a mindset shift. And it’s our teachers who make that shift possible. Whether guiding students through ideation, prototyping, or pitching their inventions, these educators provide the mentorship, encouragement, and support students need to dream big and persist through challenges.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2914 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-31-768x512.jpg" alt="Karen Garland and Ben English Grove City School District Inventionland Institute Teacher Feature" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-31-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-31-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-31.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Every breakthrough begins with a teacher who believes in their student’s potential. During this week, we recognize the countless ways these educators go above and beyond—working with students to help guide prototypes, giving feedback on invention ideas, and cheering students on as they present their work. Their impact extends far beyond the classroom. They’re shaping confident, capable young people who see themselves as creators </span><span class="s1">and innovators.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">At Inventionland Education, we are proud to work alongside these incredible professionals. They are the reason the curriculum comes to life. They are the catalysts for creativity, the champions of student voice, and the mentors who make inventing feel possible and exciting.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, let’s lift these educators for their incredible work. Let’s thank them not only for teaching, but for inspiring. Because of them, students are building skills, confidence, and a mindset that will carry them into the future—and perhaps even change it.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">For many of these students, the contest is not just a final showcase of their hard work, but also a culmination of months of creative thinking, engineering, and teamwork.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The <a href="/contests">National Invention Contest</a> provides students the chance to present their inventions in front of a panel of industry experts, educators, and innovators. What sets this contest apart is its accessibility—students have the option to compete either in person at the iconic Inventionland facility in Pittsburgh or virtually, allowing participation from all corners of the country. Regardless of the format, the event encourages young minds to push the boundaries of creativity, invention, and engineering.</span></p>
<h3 class="p4"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-23026 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-768x432.jpg" alt="2023 Regional Inventionland Contest" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />The Inventionland Education Course: Building a Foundation for Innovation</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-20899 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/icon-laser-cutting.png" alt="Laser Cutting Icon" width="103" height="92" />The Inventionland Education <a href="/courseware-k-12">applied-STEM innovation course</a> empowers students with hands-on skills and the mindset needed to succeed in the world of invention. <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24953 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating-768x432.jpg" alt="Students Collaborating on an assignment" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Career-Video-students-collaborating.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The curriculum integrates science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) principles in an engaging and educational way.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">One of the most significant benefits of going through the Inventionland Education course is that it equips students with a deep understanding of the invention process—from ideation to prototyping to final product presentation.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Students are not only learning the technical aspects of STEM subjects but also developing essential soft skills like teamwork, communication, and perseverance. This combination of technical expertise and problem-solving skills is invaluable in preparing students for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and innovation.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24107 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19-768x512.jpg" alt="end-of-program marketing pitch" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/contestcandid19.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />The course offers students access to a wealth of resources and tools that professionals in the field often use. They learn to use creative thought and technology prototyping tools to bring their ideas to life. The hands-on approach ensures that students are not just passive learners but active creators, able to apply what they&#8217;ve learned in a real-world context.</span></p>

One exemplary model of this is Inventionland Education&#8217;s applied STEM course, which has transformed classrooms into hubs of creativity and innovation.</p>
<p class="p1">This program has already produced remarkable results, with two standout products—the No Cry Hair Tie and the Amazing Lid—gaining significant attention and success.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24147 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-768x431.jpg" alt="Invention Contest Winners Mia Mertz and Madison Mulato" width="768" height="431" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-768x431.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-300x168.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-1536x862.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-2048x1149.jpg 2048w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Madison-Mia-Grove-City-2-18x10.jpg 18w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p2">The Journey of the No Cry Hair Tie</h3>
<p class="p1">Mia Mertz and Madison Mulato, students in the United States, embarked on an innovative journey through Inventionland Education&#8217;s applied STEM course while attending Grove City Middle School in Pennsylvania. They identified a common problem people with long hair face: the discomfort and damage caused by traditional hair ties.</p>
<p class="p1">Mia and Madison developed the No Cry Hair Tie with determination and creativity. This innovative hair accessory eliminates the pain and damage typically associated with regular hair ties. Their design incorporates soft, flexible materials and an ergonomic shape that ensures a comfortable fit without pulling or breaking hair.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24149 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-768x501.jpg" alt="No Cry Hair Tie photo" width="768" height="501" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-768x501.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-300x196.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-1024x668.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-1536x1002.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-2048x1336.jpg 2048w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/no-cry-hair-tie-crop-18x12.jpg 18w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1">Their hard work and ingenuity paid off when the No Cry Hair Tie secured a licensing agreement, paving the way for mass production and distribution.</p>
<p class="p1">This groundbreaking product debuted at the Inspired Home Show in Chicago in April 2024, the largest housewares show in the world, attracting buyers and sellers from 120 countries.</p>
<p class="p1">Already available on Amazon.com, the No Cry Hair Tie will hit retail stores later this year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-12222 size-medium_large alignnone" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/amideast-main-768x436.jpg" alt="Inventionland Education International Contests" width="768" height="436" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/amideast-main-768x436.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/amideast-main-300x170.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/amideast-main.jpg 1018w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p2">The Amazing Lid: A Global Innovation</h3>
<p class="p1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-24252" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/jordan-us-flags.jpg" alt="jordan us flags image" width="296" height="127" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/jordan-us-flags.jpg 700w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/jordan-us-flags-300x129.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/jordan-us-flags-18x8.jpg 18w" sizes="(max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px" />Meanwhile, halfway across the world in Jordan, another group of students engaged in the Youth Innovation Project, a collaborative effort between Amideast, the Jordan Ministry of Youth, and Inventionland® Education, made waves with their own invention.</p>
<p class="p1">Students developed the Amazing Lid by working through the real-world 9-step method for inventing from Inventionland Education. This innovative product addresses a common problem by creating a silicon lid that stretches to fit most coffee and drink cups.</p>
<p class="p1">Like Mia and Madison, the students from Jordan secured a licensing agreement for their product. The Amazing Lid also made its worldwide debut at the Inspired Home Show in Chicago, where it garnered interest from buyers across the world. With its debut in retail stores slated for later this year, the Amazing Lid is already available on Amazon.com and other online websites, where it aims to solve the problem of missing card cup lids.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24251 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-768x514.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="514" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-768x514.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-300x201.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-1024x685.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-1536x1028.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-2048x1371.jpg 2048w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Amazing-Lid-18x12.jpg 18w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p2">The Impact on Students&#8217; Learning and Future</h3>
<p class="p1">The success of these products underscores the profound impact of Inventionland Education&#8217;s applied STEM course on students&#8217; learning experiences. Students develop critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills that extend beyond traditional classroom learning by engaging in real-world problem-solving. This hands-on approach enhances their understanding of STEM concepts and cultivates entrepreneurial spirit and resilience.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2923 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-14-768x512.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-14-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-14-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-14.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-23470" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-02.png" alt="" width="132" height="118" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-02.png 973w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-02-300x268.png 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-02-768x687.png 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-02-13x12.png 13w" sizes="(max-width: 132px) 100vw, 132px" /></p>
<p class="p1">Moreover, the experience of bringing an invention to market gives students a unique and compelling story for their college entry essays. The journey from identifying a problem to developing a solution, securing a licensing agreement, and unveiling a product at a significant international show demonstrates initiative, perseverance, and innovation. These achievements highlight the students&#8217; ability to apply their knowledge and skills meaningfully, setting them apart in the competitive college admissions process.</p>
<p class="p1">The stories of the No Cry Hair Tie and the Amazing Lid exemplify the transformative power of applied STEM education. Through Inventionland Education&#8217;s program, students like Mia, Madison, and those from Jordan are learning valuable technical skills and gaining practical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. As these products make their way to retail shelves, they stand as a testament to the potential of young innovators to make a significant impact on the world.</p>

Inventionland Education stands at the forefront of this educational paradigm shift, offering a unique platform for students to unleash their creativity, develop a keen entrepreneurial sense, and develop essential soft skills. By creating their own inventions in small groups, students embark on a journey of discovery, innovation, and personal growth.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24274 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98-768x512.jpg" alt="rowan students brainstorm ideas" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98-1536x1023.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/rowansmaller-98.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Inventionland Education believes in the untapped creative potential of every student, ready to be unleashed. By providing a nurturing environment and a structured framework, this innovative educational program empowers students to transform their imagination into tangible inventions. Working collaboratively in small groups, students are not just encouraged, but empowered to brainstorm ideas, overcome challenges, and bring their concepts to life.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-23477 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2-768x501.jpg" alt="Hands-On Learning" width="768" height="501" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2-768x501.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2-300x196.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2-1024x668.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2-1536x1002.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/hands-on-learning2.jpg 2047w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-21602" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-magnet.png" alt="" width="106" height="101" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The hands-on nature of the program fosters experiential learning, allowing students to actively engage in the invention process from ideation to prototype development. This immersive approach not only reinforces theoretical concepts but also instills a deep sense of pride and ownership in their creations. Whether it&#8217;s designing a new gadget, crafting a sustainable solution, or conceptualizing a revolutionary product, students are given the freedom to explore their interests and passions in a supportive environment.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24272 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance-768x432.jpg" alt="Students at an Invention Contest" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Video-Capture-2023-12-06-enhance.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Moreover, Inventionland Education goes beyond nurturing creativity; it cultivates entrepreneurial skills essential for success in the 21st-century economy. Through real-world experiences, students learn the intricacies of market research, product development, and even business planning.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">They gain firsthand insights into the entrepreneurial journey, from identifying market needs to pitching their ideas to a three-person panel at the end of their course in an Invention Contest or Showcase.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Working in small groups also helps to foster collaboration, communication, and critical thinking—the cornerstones of success in today&#8217;s real world. Students learn to leverage their collective strengths, navigate differing viewpoints, and reach consensus—a valuable skill set applicable in academic and professional settings. Moreover, the program encourages students to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, fostering resilience and adaptability in facing challenges. At Inventionland, we call this process &#8220;failing forward,&#8221; as it takes practice to master any skill. Learning how to practice innovation and inventing is no different.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1560 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-Institute-group-of-kids-learning-768x512.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-Institute-group-of-kids-learning-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-Institute-group-of-kids-learning-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-Institute-group-of-kids-learning.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Inventionland Education transcends traditional classroom boundaries, providing a dynamic learning environment that mirrors the complexities of the real world. By integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles with creativity and entrepreneurship, the program equips students with a holistic skill set essential for thriving in a rapidly evolving landscape.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-23473" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-05.png" alt="innovation mindset" width="112" height="121" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-05.png 959w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-05-278x300.png 278w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-05-950x1024.png 950w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-05-768x828.png 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Icons-Custom-05-11x12.png 11w" sizes="(max-width: 112px) 100vw, 112px" />Every student possesses the potential to be an innovator and uncover solutions to problems. Whether it&#8217;s a groundbreaking invention, a life-saving cure, or a more efficient process, the seeds of innovation lie within each young mind. Our role as educators is to cultivate these seeds, providing the environment and curriculum in which they can flourish.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">However, fostering innovation in the classroom can be challenging. The traditional educational system often prioritizes rote memorization and standardized testing over creative thinking and problem-solving skills. This leaves little room for students to explore their unique ideas and experiment with new concepts.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-18218 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-institute-discovery-method-768x631.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="631" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-institute-discovery-method-768x631.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-institute-discovery-method-300x246.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Inventionland-institute-discovery-method.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">That&#8217;s where programs like Inventionland Education Innovation come in. Educators can inspire a new generation of innovators by offering a hands-on, student-driven curriculum rooted in applied STEM principles. Inventionland provides students and educators with the tools, resources, and guidance to bring their ideas to life, fostering a classroom culture of creativity and exploration.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-18155 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/virtual-reality-discovery-learning-768x432.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/virtual-reality-discovery-learning-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/virtual-reality-discovery-learning-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/virtual-reality-discovery-learning.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">One of the critical aspects of Inventionland is its emphasis on collaboration. By working in small groups, students learn to leverage their peers&#8217; diverse perspectives and skills, sparking new ideas and refining their designs through collective brainstorming and problem-solving. This collaborative approach mirrors real-world innovation processes and teaches students valuable teamwork and communication skills essential for success in any field.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Moreover, the Inventionland course encourages students to embrace failure as an integral part of the learning process. Innovation rarely occurs without setbacks or mistakes along the way. Students must realize that momentary setbacks are part of the innovation journey and offer opportunities for growth and improvement. Through this process, students develop resilience, improve their critical thinking skills, and persevere in overcoming challenges.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-18150 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/using-the-discovery-method-to-learn-about-DNA-768x577.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="577" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/using-the-discovery-method-to-learn-about-DNA-768x577.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/using-the-discovery-method-to-learn-about-DNA-300x225.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/using-the-discovery-method-to-learn-about-DNA.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">By engaging students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences, Inventionland empowers them to become active participants in their education, fostering a sense of ownership and agency over their learning journey. Through experimentation and reflection, students develop the problem-solving skills and creative mindset necessary to create the innovations and inventions of tomorrow.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-21601" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas.png" alt="Stimulating Curiosity" width="137" height="137" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 137px) 100vw, 137px" />Innovation is a mindset that can be cultivated and nurtured in all students. As educators, we are responsible for providing the tools, resources, and support needed to unlock the full potential of every young mind. With programs like Inventionland&#8217;s applied STEM innovation curriculum, we can become the catalysts that inspire the next generation of innovators to see the world not as it is but as it could be – and imagine the possibilities that lie ahead.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">At its core, the 9-step inventing process is a structured approach to problem-solving and innovation, and it uses the identical steps that Inventionland®uses with all of its clients. Inventionland®is one of the world&#8217;s largest invention factories.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">It guides students through the journey of identifying a problem, brainstorming ideas, creating prototypes, and refining their inventions.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-23030 alignnone" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/DSCF1331-1024x708.jpg" alt="2023 Regional Inventionland®Contest. <p class="p1"><span class="s1">This process fosters critical thinking and encourages perseverance, resilience, and adaptability – skills essential in today&#8217;s rapidly changing world.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">One of the most significant impacts of the 9-step inventing process is that it empowers students to think beyond the textbook. Instead of simply memorizing facts, they actively engage with real-world challenges and find innovative solutions. This hands-on experience deepens their understanding of scientific principles and helps them see the relevance of what they&#8217;re learning in the classroom.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-23033 alignnone" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_00_26_06.Still005-trim-1024x599.jpg" alt="2023 Regional Inventionland®Contest. <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Moreover, the process encourages collaboration and teamwork. Students often work in groups, pooling their ideas and skills to create something truly unique. This mirrors the dynamics of the professional world and teaches them the value of diverse perspectives.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-23031 alignnone" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_01_33_17.Still006-1024x576.jpg" alt="2023 Regional Inventionland®Contest. <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Beyond the academic benefits, the Regional Invention Contest also strongly emphasizes soft skills development. Public speaking, presentation skills, and the ability to articulate innovative ideas are all honed during the process. These skills are essential for success in any field and will serve students well throughout their lives.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The contest adds an extra layer of significance. It brings together students from different schools, backgrounds, and communities, fostering a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie. Students get the chance to showcase their inventions to a broader audience, and they can draw inspiration from their peers&#8217; innovations.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-23026 alignnone" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-1024x576.jpg" alt="2023 Regional Inventionland®Contest" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/regional_invention_contest-00_03_00_03.Still013.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>

<p>In addition to the valuable skills and exposure to career opportunities, students compete in invention contests before a panel of experts to demonstrate their inventions at the end of the course. Winning teams also have the chance to compete in invention contests at Inventionland&#8217;s corporate headquarters each May in Pittsburgh, PA. This kind of recognition can be a huge motivator for students, inspiring them to pursue their passions and continue to develop their skills.</p>

For example, two eighth-grade students from Grove City Middle School (Mia Mertz and Madison Mulato) saw their invention earn a licensing agreement to bring their product to market after participating in their invention contest. In addition, a team of international Inventionland®students from Jordan participated in the Youth Innovation Project. As a result, they also earned a licensing agreement for their developed product, co-sponsored by Amideast and the Jordan Ministry of Youth. Both sets of products will be available for purchase in 2023.</p>
<p>In addition to its innovation curriculum, Inventionland® Education also designs immersive, age-appropriate Innovation Labs® and maker spaces that inspire creativity and original thought, as well as a complete line of STEM and maker space professional learning, delivered in-person or virtually.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-21496" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/20220324_085038-1024x768.jpg" alt="STEM and Maker Space photo of Innovation Labs®" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/20220324_085038-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/20220324_085038-300x225.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/20220324_085038-768x576.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/20220324_085038-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/20220324_085038.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
