<h3 class="p2"><span class="s1"><b>Empowered teachers equal engaged students</b></span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">When students are invited to solve problems they care about, engagement rises dramatically. When teachers have a structure and rich resources, confidence follows. The Innovation Science Course supports both through professional learning using readily available materials and a supportive community of professionals working in STEM fields who share ideas, exemplars, and encouragement. The result is a classroom where students are excited, educators are facilitators, and innovation flourishes.</span></p>

Each space is designed to support collaboration and project-based learning, a cornerstone of their <i>Science of <a href="/courseware-k-12">Inventing </a></i>curriculum.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Labs®</a> feature environments where students want to learn, and teachers want to teach. These immersive spaces help students feel like innovators, working in real-world creative settings rather than boring, static classrooms. <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Career and Technical Education (CTE) Centers benefit from Inventionland Education, bringing the “wow” of the professional world into the school setting. With workspaces that mirror design studios, prototyping labs, and broadcast suites, students gain hands-on experience in engineering, product design, digital media, and so much more.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Every corner of these immersive spaces encourages the design-thinking process and then some, from brainstorming and sketching to building and testing. Students learn about innovation by doing it. By creating real prototypes and pitching their inventions, they gain confidence and practical skills that align with future career paths in STEM and beyond.</span></p>

Under the leadership of <b>Drew Hirshon</b>, Director of Magnet Schools, the district launched <b>Project Heroes</b>, an ambitious initiative to introduce STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming across three newly reimagined magnet schools.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26221 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit-768x576.jpg" alt="Park View Innovation Lab" width="768" height="576" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit-768x576.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit-300x225.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit-16x12.jpg 16w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2100-ParkViewES-edit.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">These schools, including <b>Park View School of Discovery (elementary)</b>, <b>Risley School of Exploration (middle school)</b>, and <b>Centennial High School’s Design and Innovation Academy, </b>were designed with a single purpose: to connect classroom learning to real-world problem-solving and career pathways that inspire the next generation of innovators.</span></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1"><b>Designing Immersive Spaces That Spark Curiosity</b></span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-21601 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas.png" alt="Stimulating Curiosity" width="108" height="108" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 108px) 100vw, 108px" />To bring this vision to life, Pueblo partnered with <b>Inventionland Education</b>, known for creating immersive Innovation Labs® and applied STEM curriculum programs that reimagine what’s possible in education. Together, they built <b>five groundbreaking Innovation Labs</b> across the district. The immersive spaces combine design thinking, fabrication, storytelling, and collaboration into a hands-on experience that enables students to innovate, explore, and take the lead.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26222 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS-768x576.jpg" alt="Centennial High School" width="768" height="576" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS-768x576.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS-300x225.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS-16x12.jpg 16w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2225-CentennialHS.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />Each lab features themed environments that inspire imagination and support <b>project-based learning (PBL)</b>. Here, students don’t just learn science or technology; they <b>live it</b>, experimenting, designing prototypes, and pitching solutions to real-world challenges.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">“In these spaces, students are not just learning facts,” Hirshon explains. “They’re developing empathy, creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and reflection. These are the very skills they’ll need for the workforce of tomorrow.”</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26224 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS-768x576.jpg" alt="Risley Innovation Lab" width="768" height="576" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS-768x576.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS-300x225.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS-16x12.jpg 16w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_5063-RisleyMS.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1"><b>A Culture Rooted in Innovation and Equity</b></span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-20899 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/icon-laser-cutting.png" alt="Laser Cutting Icon" width="111" height="100" />Project Heroes is about more than STREAM courses or lab equipment; it’s about <b>redefining learning for all students</b>, especially those furthest from opportunity. The district’s magnet programs provide equitable access to specialized instruction and career exploration, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, can envision themselves as creators and problem solvers.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">By shifting to project-based learning and a makers’ mindset, Pueblo is already seeing promising results: <b>reduced absenteeism, higher engagement, and stronger community buy-in</b>. Teachers are empowered through professional learning that connects innovation with classroom practice, and students are energized by experiences that feel meaningful and relevant.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26225 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team-768x576.jpg" alt="Hirshon and his team" width="768" height="576" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team-768x576.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team-300x225.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team-16x12.jpg 16w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/IMG_2233-Hirshon-and-team.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1"><b>Leadership That Makes Change Possible</b></span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The success of Project Heroes reflects a clear lesson: true transformation requires both <b>vision and execution</b>. Hirshon and his team turned complex funding requirements into an actionable plan by aligning curriculum design, space transformation, and professional learning around a shared purpose.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">From kindergarten through high school, students are part of a seamless STREAM pathway that connects imagination with innovation, preparing them for college, careers, and beyond.</span></p>

Their school has seen remarkable success with the program, including students winning this year&#8217;s national invention contest with their project, the &#8220;Untie Knot.”</span></p>

<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1">How It All Began</span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-19270 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/rocket.png" alt="" width="105" height="76" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/rocket.png 662w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/rocket-300x218.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 105px) 100vw, 105px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Grove City Middle School first became involved with Inventionland Education seven to eight years ago after Superintendent Dr. Joshua Weaver and his leadership team visited Inventionland&#8217;s world-class facility and immediately saw the potential to engage students in new and exciting ways. Inspired by Inventionland&#8217;s innovative spaces and the sheer number of products it has brought to the market, Grove City began integrating the applied <a href="/courseware-k-12">STEM inventing curriculum</a> into its middle school program.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">From the beginning, both administration and teachers sought to give students more opportunities in STEAM-related activities, critical thinking, and collaboration. The Inventionland course checked every box, offering a unique way to prepare students for the future.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26118 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly-768x432.jpg" alt="Principal Larry Connelly" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Principal-Larry-Connelly.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1">Student-driven, Teacher Facilitated</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Principal Larry Connelly highlighted one of his favorite aspects of the program: the students are the ones leading the classroom. Unlike traditional classes where the teacher explains everything, in the Inventionland course, students tell the story of their inventions, lead the process, and present their ideas. Teachers serve as guides, but the energy and ownership come from the kids themselves.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26117 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still-768x432.jpg" alt="Karen Garland" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/karen-garland-still.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Karen Garland, who teaches the course along with fellow educator Ben English, has seen firsthand how excited students are to participate. &#8220;Sixth graders come into the school eager to brainstorm inventions years before they are eligible to take the class in eighth grade. By the time they officially enter the program, their anticipation and motivation are high,&#8221; Karen shared. She also loves the flexibility provided by school leadership, which allows them to experiment, learn, and refine their approach over the years.</span></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-2925 size-medium_large" style="font-size: 16px;" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-22-768x512.jpg" alt="" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-22-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-22-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Karen-Garland-and-Ben-English-Grove-City-School-District-Inventionland-Institute-Teacher-Feature-22.jpg 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />Real Outcomes, Real Growth, and Real Licensing Agreements</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Inventionland Education curriculum is built around a nine-step inventing method, where students work in teams to develop, pitch, and showcase their creations. But the program&#8217;s real impact goes beyond projects. Students learn resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom, including three student teams that have earn actual licensing agreement to have their product available for sale in the global marketplace.</span></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1">Community and Business Partnerships</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-24942 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork-768x432.jpg" alt="student collaboration with woodwork" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/student-collaboration-woodwork.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The program doesn&#8217;t just stay within school walls. Grove City students collaborate with local businesses, engineers, and professionals. From candy makers to optical companies, the community has played a vital role in providing students with real-world insights. This partnership approach connects students with industry, making their work more authentic and impactful.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Parents, too, have been enthusiastic supporters. Some families who homeschool their children even send their children to the middle school specifically for the Inventionland course. The buzz in the community demonstrates the credibility and excitement the program generates.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26137 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b-768x471.jpg" alt="Inventionland Education Premieres on the Science Channel with Tomorrow’s World Today" width="768" height="471" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b-768x471.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b-300x184.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b-1024x627.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b-1536x941.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/invention-contest-2025-b.jpg 1900w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p3"><span class="s1">Looking Ahead</span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-21590 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking.png" alt="icon-thinking" width="95" height="95" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 95px) 100vw, 95px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Both Larry Connelly and Karen Garland believe the program represents the future of education: competency-based learning, customization, and freedom to think. Rather than focusing on test scores or memorization, students are encouraged to explore, create, and problem-solve. The skills developed in this environment, including critical thinking, communication, and collaboration, are precisely what students need for success in high school, college, careers, and life.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">As George Davison summed it up, Inventionland Education&#8217;s Applied <a href="/courseware-k-12">STEM Innovation Curriculum</a> is more than a class. It&#8217;s a movement that empowers students, strengthens schools, and brings communities together through innovation. And at Grove City Middle School, it&#8217;s creating proud moments, lasting memories, and a future filled with possibilities.</span></p>

<p>Dr. Anitia Rice, Superintendent of Lincoln Elementary School District 156, emphasized the vision behind the project: &#8220;We want our young learners to experience STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) in a stimulating, non-traditional environment. We also want to introduce our students to early career exploration, so that they can grow up in a world of possibilities.&#8221; This vision reflects the district&#8217;s commitment to providing its PreK through 5th-grade students with hands-on, project-based learning that goes far beyond the traditional classroom.</p>

That&#8217;s precisely what Inventionland Education&#8217;s <b><a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Labs</a>®</b> are designed to do. These unique spaces transform schools into hubs of creativity and exploration, giving students the opportunity to learn STEM concepts, practice project-based learning, and explore potential career paths in an engaging, meaningful way.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26013 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286-768x512.jpg" alt="teacher and students" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9286.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p2"><span class="s1">Spaces Designed for Innovation</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Walking into an <a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Lab</a> feels different from entering a typical classroom. Instead of rows of desks and whiteboards, students step into a space inspired by some of the most creative environments in the world. Every design element, whether it&#8217;s flexible seating, vibrant visuals, or imaginative themes, encourages curiosity and exploration. By surrounding students with a stimulating atmosphere, Innovation Labs create the perfect backdrop for inventive thinking.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26004 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134-768x512.jpg" alt="Innovation Labs® classroom" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9134.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p2"><span class="s1">Bringing STEM and Innovation to Life</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-21601 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas.png" alt="Stimulating Curiosity" width="152" height="152" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-ideas-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 152px) 100vw, 152px" />STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) are at the heart of modern education, but they can sometimes feel abstract to students. Innovation Labs make STEM come alive through hands-on challenges and design projects. Whether students are building prototypes, coding solutions, or testing engineering concepts, they&#8217;re not just learning theories; they&#8217;re applying knowledge in ways that mirror real-world innovation.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">By engaging multiple learning styles, <a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Labs</a> also ensure that every student, whether they&#8217;re a visual learner, kinesthetic learner, or collaborative thinker, has a pathway to success. This hands-on, student-centered approach makes STEM both accessible and exciting.</span></p>
<h3 class="p2"><span class="s1">Project-Based Learning in Action</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26001 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428-768x512.jpg" alt="project based learning" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9428.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />Inventionland Education&#8217;s <a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Labs</a> are perfect for hands-on, project-based learning (PBL). Students aren&#8217;t just memorizing facts; they&#8217;re solving problems, designing products, and pitching their ideas. Inventionland Education&#8217;s award-winning applied STEM curriculum guides students through a structured 9-step inventing process, from brainstorming to prototyping to presenting solutions.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">This approach empowers students to take ownership of their education. They work in student-led teams, think critically, and learn resilience as they iterate on their ideas. By tackling open-ended challenges, they practice the kind of problem-solving that extends far beyond the classroom.</span></p>
<h3 class="p2"><span class="s1">Preparing Students for Future Careers</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26000 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374-768x512.jpg" alt="Media Lab" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9374.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />One of the most potent aspects of Innovation Labs is their connection to <b>career exploration</b>. Students not only build technical skills in STEM but also develop essential &#8220;soft skills&#8221; such as communication, collaboration, and creativity, qualities that employers consistently seek.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-20899 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/icon-laser-cutting.png" alt="Laser Cutting Icon" width="126" height="113" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">By simulating real-world processes, <a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Labs</a> give students a taste of careers in engineering, product design, entrepreneurship, and beyond. They learn how to research markets, identify customer needs, and design viable solutions, mirroring the same steps taken in professional innovation labs. These experiences help students see a future for themselves in industries they may never have considered before.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-26002 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273-768x512.jpg" alt="project based learning" width="768" height="512" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273-768x512.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273-300x200.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273-18x12.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/0K7A9273.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<h3 class="p2"><span class="s1">A New Era of Learning</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Inventionland Education&#8217;s <a href="/innovation-labs">Innovation Labs</a> represent a new era of education, one that blends creativity, STEM learning, and career readiness into a single immersive experience. For schools and districts, they provide an opportunity to reimagine how students learn. For students, they open doors to new ideas, new skills, and new futures.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">With every Innovation Lab, classrooms are transformed into launchpads for the next generation of inventors, innovators, and problem-solvers.</span></p>

<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-21590 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking.png" alt="icon-thinking" width="104" height="104" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/icon-thinking-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 104px) 100vw, 104px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">According to the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), today’s fastest-growing industries depend on a person’s ability to “think unconventionally” and “produce astonishing work.” So, how can educators bridge that gap?</span></p>

Project-based learning (PBL), when paired with immersive environments and purpose-driven curriculum, offers an ideal platform to help students move beyond rote memorization and into a space of discovery, creativity, and application.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Unfortunately, many teachers find themselves limited by rigid schedules, testing requirements, and a lack of resources. Even when schools add makerspaces or STEM labs, they often lack the structured curriculum necessary to transform those spaces into innovation centers. Without clear guidance and purpose, even the most exciting tools risk being underutilized.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-25960 size-full" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2.jpg" alt="Photo shoot" width="521" height="361" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2.jpg 521w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2-300x208.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Preparing-Students-with-Invention-and-Innovation-a-white-paper-220224-2-18x12.jpg 18w" sizes="(max-width: 521px) 100vw, 521px" />That’s where Inventionland Education steps in. Drawing on over 30 years of experience in real-world product development, Inventionland has created an applied STEM <a href="/courseware-k-12">invention curriculum</a> that guides students through the entire 9-step inventing method.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-24789 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1.jpg" alt="applied STEM" width="206" height="279" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1.jpg 240w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1-222x300.jpg 222w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/applied-STEM-240x325-1-9x12.jpg 9w" sizes="(max-width: 206px) 100vw, 206px" />This course is designed to be student-driven, extremely collaborative, and engaging, as students of all skill levels and learning styles learn about innovation and inventing.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Equally important is the physical space where learning happens. Traditional classrooms, with rows of desks and teacher-centered instruction, don’t lend themselves to innovation. By contrast, immersive learning spaces like the Creative Innovation Research Center (CIRC) at Haine Elementary or the Innovation Lab at Leechburg High School provide students with opportunities to explore, create, and collaborate. These environments spark curiosity and foster a sense of ownership, leading to deeper learning and improved student outcomes.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-25961 size-medium_large" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-768x432.jpg" alt="Teacher and student" width="768" height="432" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-768x432.jpg 768w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-300x169.jpg 300w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING-18x10.jpg 18w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Teacher-and-student-GCMS-IL-EDU-MARKETING.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" />Research shows that project-based, innovation-focused classrooms deliver a host of benefits:</span></p>
<ul class="ul1">
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Better content retention and academic performance.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Increased student engagement and attendance, especially among underserved populations.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Development of essential 21st-century skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span class="s1">Improved performance on standardized tests.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">And it’s not just students who benefit. <a href="/teacher-resources">Educators</a> who embrace project-based learning often report higher job satisfaction and reduced burnout. When students are excited to learn, their enthusiasm becomes contagious, reigniting passion and creativity among teachers as well.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-22484 alignright" src="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/icon-communcatoins.png" alt="Communications" width="112" height="112" srcset="https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/icon-communcatoins.png 216w, https://inventionlandeducation.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/icon-communcatoins-150x150.png 150w" sizes="(max-width: 112px) 100vw, 112px" /></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Ultimately, preparing students for the future means equipping them with the tools and <a href="/innovation-labs">space</a> to become inventors, innovators, and problem solvers. With the right curriculum, environment, and support, schools can transform learning into something truly meaningful and exciting.</span></p>
