Spring starts this weekend and we think we can speak for pretty much everyone when we say that we’re more than glad to welcome it and all the new beginnings it brings!

Speaking of starting something new, one Pittsburgh-area middle school recently got a new beginning of their own when an administrator and a group of teachers came to Inventionland®for a one-day crash course in 3D printing!

The trio from Apollo Ridge Middle School, which is located in Spring Church, Pennsylvania, met with Inventionland®Institute Executive Director Nathan Field and Inventionland®Creationeer and 3D-printing extraordinaire Greg Karis.

Davy's TreehouseDuring their meeting inside Inventionland’s Davy’s Treehouse, Field and Karis collaborated to deliver a 3D-printing seminar packed with tips and tricks for the educators to easily utilize in their classrooms, where they obviously are branching out to incorporate more Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education into the curriculum.

3D printing is crucial to product design, which encompasses many aspects of STEM education and is an excellent way to encourage project-based learning and student collaboration in the classroom.
