March 2026 Newsletter
2026 Innovation Grant Update
Through February, we’ve already awarded a record 55 Innovation Grants to schools across the country. These supplemental grants help offset the cost of Innovation Labs®, CTE centers, classroom transformations, the Innovation Science curriculum, and professional learning.
We’ve also introduced a new online grant application, making the process faster and easier for schools to apply.
Explore our Updated Innovation Science Curriculum
We’ve added new content and videos to our Innovation Science curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school students. The program blends the scientific method with innovation and invention, creating an engaging, hands-on classroom experience. Students work in small teams to identify problems, develop ideas, build prototypes, and pitch their own inventions. Students and teachers can also connect with industry professionals who share insights from real companies and careers. The result is a course that strengthens STEM learning while helping students build creativity, teamwork, and confidence in work-based problem-solving.
Get Ready for our National Invention Contest May 19-21
Schools using the Innovation Science course are invited to take part in our National Invention Contest. Last year’s contest was featured on the Telly Award-winning TV show Tomorrow’s World Today on the Discovery and Science Channels.
In 2026, we’ll once again film the contest for a worldwide audience, highlighting the incredible inventions students create through the program. Student teams can compete in person at our Pittsburgh headquarters or participate virtually
Demo our Innovation Science Curriculum
See how outdated classrooms and underused spaces can be transformed into future-ready immersive environments we call Innovation Labs®. Our team also designs inspiring CTE spaces, media centers, entranceways, eSports rooms, language labs, and other specialized learning environments for K–12 schools across North America.
Middle School Inventions Reaching the Global Market
Students in the Inventionland Education Innovation Science course build impressive prototypes, and some have even earned real licensing agreements. In 2024, students Mia and Madison created the No Cry Hair Tie, now sold internationally on Amazon, Jokari, and other major websites.
More recently, Grove City Middle Schoolers Olivia and Samantha invented The Untie Not, a device that keeps shoelaces securely tied. And Ethan, Elijah, and Gavin developed the Needle Guard, which protects ball pump needles, and The Untie Not, a device that keeps shoelaces securely tied. Both products are now moving toward launch.
