After Largest Install, More Innovation Labs® Going Up
After the largest Innovation Labs® installation in company history at the Berkshire Local Schools new preK-12 campus, the Inventionland®Education team is working on several new projects.
The Montoursville Local School District in Pennsylvania was recently awarded a $500,000 Pa.Smart Grant to boost the district’s and local YMCA STEM education. The grant will result in a new Innovation Lab, K-12 innovation curriculum, and professional development for its teachers.
Inventionland®Education and EnvisionEdPlus were instrumental in helping the Montoursville School District secure the grant. The application was appropriately named Re (inventing) school-business-community partnerships to ensure CS/STEM for all. Michele Timmons, President of EnvisionEdPlus led the grant-writing team, assisted by Inventionland®Education’s Executive Director Nathan Field.
In the Maysville Local School District (Zanesville, OH), the Inventionland®Education team wrapped up a beautiful Innovation Lab just in time for the new school year. This project was a significant renovation of an existing, underutilized space, and includes dry-erase light panels and sound panels to create a Bright Idea Breakout Room as part of their new Innovation Lab.
The triangular area made the design a bit more challenging, but we think you’ll agree that they did some great work in the space. The room incorporates creative color choices that match the school’s theme, along with their school and graduation profile logos.
In Marion, Ohio, Pleasant Local Schools is the final phase of opening their brand new school. Inventionland®Education worked with their staff to secure 26 dry-erase light panels to inspire creativity and collaboration for students and teachers alike. Vonda Alberson of architectural firm Fanning Howey and Jeremy Myers from Peterson Construction were terrific to work with.
And at the Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship in Pittsburgh, Inventionland®Education assisted in wrapping up a remodel at the charter school. Inventionland®introduced four dry-erase light panels, and created the STEM wall art panel. Smith Systems provided the flooring and furniture.
